Hello there
My daughter had been sleeping very well and lots of energy during the day but in the last 2 weeks I have started to notice a difference and would like some advice on a new routine maybe for her.
her routine is
Wake - 7.15
Breakfast - 8.30
Lunch - 11.30
Nap - 1-2.30
Dinner - 5.00
Bed - 7.30
She used to sleep 2 hours up until 2 weeks ago and I think this is because she is getting older and she is needing less sleep. Is that right do you think?
She has also started waking at 7.15 where we used to wake her just before 8am each morning so in the last 2 weeks, she has dropped 90 minutes of sleep. As a result, she seems very tired in the afternoons and sometimes the morning too, yawning throughout breakfast.
She has also started to throw her teddy from the cot when we put her down with the cheerful jingle so I have to go in anytime between 3 and 10 times to pick it up and she cannot sleep without teddy. Then she settles for the night.
Please can you advise me if I am doing the right thing by going into her room the minute she cries out "teddy!". When I hand it to her, she lies back down and I say the jingle as I walk out of the room. Why is she throwing the teddy (apart from to get me or my husband to go back in) as she knows there are no wolves at the door?
I have gone back to work in the last month - could this be connected? Or am I just a guilty mother?
Would love some advice on what I should expect with a 20 month old,
thank you in advance
Katherine

Re: Changing routine for 20 month old
Hey there!
Put her to sleep at 19.00 and wake her at 7. And keep an afternoon nap of 1,5 hrs. 2 year olds need a total of 13,5 hrs of sleep.
About the teddy : If she throws it. Let it be. Otherwise it will become an ongoing cirkus of going in och out. Just as you have experienced.
Going in 10 times a night is far to much traffic.
Kind regards, Luvisen
